Im ready to book, what do I do now?

Yay, I cant wait! Firstly shoot me an email on my contact page with as much info as you can detail and I will get back to you promptly (please check your junk mail as they usually end up in there!) Once we find a date that suits us both, I will send you a booking link with a questionnaire, a contract and your invoice. Until the retainer is paid and contract signed, your session will not be secured.

The questionnaire is for me to gain as much info as you want to share about your family so we can plan your session to truly reflect you. The more you share the better I can tell your story- your kids little quirks, what you do together that makes you feel connected, special talents… its up to you!

I will also send you my welcome guide which should answer most of your questions and help plan your session; i’m here for you the whole way.

What should we expect during a session?

If there’s kids involved then the first part is me working on connecting with them! (This is where my 10 years of early childhood experience comes in handy!) I want them to feel comfortable with me being around and in your space. Once we’re all warmed up and familiar with one another, i’ll ask you to simply play and enjoy being together.

My sessions are mostly documentary style; meaning minimal posing- leading to authentic moments. Throughout the session I will be giving you some simple activity-led direction- if I see a moment then I will gently direct you into a position that feels natural, with the best lighting and prompt you to interact and lose yourself in the moment. But if I’m not talking- then that means you’re nailing it by yourself! I want the time together to feel as natural as possible so I can capture those real, raw moments between you. This is my gift to you- to be completely present with your loved ones; so embrace that, soak it up, don’t worry about a thing- those moments in between is where the magic happens.

What should we wear?

I want you to feel comfortable and just like “you.” I love pops of colour and like to keep it fun! Im happy to talk to you about what will work best for your session location, and more than happy for you to send me examples. I will however recommend you wear what you feel is appropriate for your session- that may mean clothing that’s easy to run and play in and makes you feel good. Work your colours to compliment one another, but you don’t want to blend into each other. Keep the hair and makeup simple, feel free to kick the shoes off and run wild- so you can look back and see how beautiful you are without all the extras. And lastly, pack seasonal options such as jumpers and swimmers just in case!

Where should we do the photoshoot?

This is up to you but I am always happy to make suggestions. This is your story- so what do you want to remember when you look back on it? Do you love the Ocean or the Bush? Do you feel happiest in between the four walls of your home? Anywhere with the right natural light can be magic- once you decide the theme we can explore options. Feel free to share your hobbies with me too so we can include these in your session! Do you play guitar or like to go fishing? Does your family surf or skate? Lets document that.

What happens once our session is done?

I will deliver your special memories in an online gallery within 4 weeks. Now its up to you if you want to go through and choose your 20 favourites, or if you simply cant choose and want to keep every moment to truely tell the story then you can upgrade your package for $100. From there I will unlock your images ready to download, share and print!

What happens if it rains or someone gets sick?

Don’t worry, as a mama I know how to be flexible. We will keep in touch up until the day and if its raining or way too windy- I am happy to postpone to another date that suits us both. If it’s just overcast we can make it work. Those clouds do amazing things for lighting! If someone is sick we won’t share the love- rest up and we can try again soon.

Do you travel for work?

I offer free travel within 30 minutes of Newcastle- outside of that incurs a small fee but feel free to get in touch to discuss this further. With three small children I can’t wander too far at this point in time but its always worth asking just in case!
